Disclosure of Any Potential Conflict of Interest
Staff members will notify Genesis Youth Services, Inc. leadership, if
they have had any previous contact with any youth outside Genesis
Youth Services. This policy is to mitigate a potential conflict of
interest between youth and staff members.
Confidentiality, Privacy & Human Dignity Policies
Genesis Youth Services, Inc. will ensure the protection of each
youth’s and their family’s privacy and confidentiality by protecting
them from exploitation and maltreatment. All courses of treatment
and services, i.e., issues discussed during these events, are held
confidential. Only members of the particular treatment team and
managers are made aware, but this will not be shared beyond this
group. The only time information will be discussed outside of this
group is when information is needed for research, evaluation,
programming, and billing. All of which are legally established.
Approved staff members and managers will read case file
information/records to the youth and families to ensure standards are
upheld by both parties.
Genesis Youth Services, Inc. is mandated by federal and state laws
to monitor confidentiality. We are obligated to report under the Child
Protection Act any suspicion, allegation, or working knowledge that a
youth has been or is being abused, that any youth has been or is
being neglected, or that any youth has been placed in or is currently
in danger.
Genesis Youth Services, Inc. is mandated under the Duty to Warn
Laws of any youth’s plan or threat thereof to cause harm to another
individual. This also includes but is not limited to the threat,
planning, and execution of any criminal behaviors. Such actions will
result in the immediate notification of local law enforcement.
